The Kansas City Chiefs found out that they are set to host their recent AFC Championship victims on the opening night of the NFL and now entertain a rival the following week.
Chiefs fans will be licking their lips at the prospect of starting their season with a bang as they unveil their Super Bowl banner and hope to beat one of their biggest threats in 2024.
The Baltimore Ravens are heading to Missouri after their best season in over a decade was ended in miserable fashion by Chiefs Kingdom.
Furthermore, the Ravens hosted the AFC Championship decider and had the league MVP spearheading their team.
However, the Chiefs must be wary that they do not start the season like last year when they lost to the Detroit Lions.
The Chiefs are set to welcome the Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals in back-to-back weeks
Yesterday, it was revealed that the Chiefs will be hosting successive home games. After the Ravens, the Cincinnati Bengals will be coming to town with, as they hope, a healthy Joe Burrow leading the charge.
Burrow endured a season-ending injury to scupper his 2023 season and has failed to have a healthy pre-season in four years of the NFL.
Therefore, the Bengals will be looking to wrap Burrow in bubble wrap and shield him through preseason.

Only Tom Brady and Joe Burrow have beaten Patrick Mahomes in the postseason, with the latter positing a 3-1 record against the Chiefs when starting.
The 27-year-old is the only player to hold personal leverage over Patrick Mahomes but has been left behind after numerous injuries.
Nick Wright believes the Bengals will be angry at the NFL Schedule
However, FS1 expert Nick Wright believes the Bengals will be annoyed that they are set to visit the Chiefs so early on.
The Bengals were always scheduled to travel to Kansas City but may have opted for a later date.
“If you’re Cincinnati you’re saying, ‘We start slow every year since Joe Burrow’s been here. Every single year we’ve lost our week 2 game. Every single year we’ve been at or below .500 through the first two weeks. And now are most important game, not only are you putting it in week 2, but the Chiefs get extra rest’,” Wright explained via The Herd with Colin Cowherd.
Wright proceeded to say both the Ravens and the Bengals will be left ‘furious’ at the NFL scheduling decision.
The Chiefs are set to have more days rest heading into week 2 than the Bengals
The Kansas City Chiefs are set to be hosting the Ravens on Thursday Night Football to kick off the 2024 NFL calendar.
On the other hand, the Bengals are waiting to find out their first opponent but will be playing on Sunday. Then they play the Chiefs the following Sunday, so the former will have three more days of rest.
Ultimately, the Chiefs are receiving a mini-bye week and this could pay dividends when the two AFC contenders square off.
