Micah Parsons points out ‘hypothetically’ which team he would play for if he didn’t have a long career with Cowboys

On Tuesday, the Dallas Cowboys kicked off their mandatory minicamp.

Until then, Micah Parsons and CeeDee Lamb hadn’t been taking part in the voluntary OTAs, but the pass rusher returned to practice with the team. The wide receiver is still on holdout.

Both are waiting for the franchise to extend their contracts. The organisation has said it is waiting for “more leaves to fall” before making significant deals official.

Whilst nothing is happening, the players are also pursuing their personal plans…

Parsons is in no hurry and remains patient about his contract

Since the start of the offseason, Dallas’ defensive end has made it clear that this season is very important for him, especially given the early and disappointing elimination from the 2023 playoffs.

During the OTAs, the player took some time out for himself. He did individual training sessions and concentrated on healing and maturing his mind and spirit, as well as his body.

On the day of his reintroduction to the squad, Parsons gave a press conference and spoke about what he expects from his extension with the Cowboys.

Speaking to Clarence Hill Jr, a journalist and columnist for the Star-Telegram, the edge said: “I’m patient. Patient is a virtue. I’m waiting my turn. Let CeeDee go get whatever. Let Dak get whatever.”

He also made it clear that he understands the financial situation of the franchise.

“I kind of know where the money is. It’s not like I see the Cowboys with $90 milion in cap space.”

What if Parsons doesn’t have a long-term future in Dallas

On his X profile, Hill wrote about a hypothetical scenario in which the pass-rusher is no longer with the Cowboys.

According to the journalist, “Parsons has no interest in playing anywhere but with the Cowboys. He said it’s important for his legacy and doesn’t want to bounce around. But if he hypothetically did go home later in his career it would be to join the Pittsburgh Steelers not the Philadelphia Eagles, partly because of Mike Tomlin.”
