The offseason is the time and place when contracts are negotiated or ripped up.

Kansas City has made the biggest offseason resigning as Chris Jones was made the highest-paid defensive tackle in NFL history.

However, next year they could be making another player the highest paid in his position.

Harrison Butker has been one of the most consistent kickers in the NFL for the past few seasons.

This was highlighted when he went perfect in their 2023 playoff campaign.

Butker always delivers

Moreover, the 28-year-old holds the league record for the longest field goal in Super Bowl history (57 yards) and the most successful Super Bowl field goals.

Crucially, Butker made the last-minute field goal in Super Bowl LVIII to send the game to overtime… and the rest is history.

The Chiefs kicker is one of the most reliable kickers in the industry and has a contract expiring in 2025.

Dave Toub the special-teams coordinator will be adamant that Butker is presented with a new deal.

Nonetheless, it will be an expensive contract for Brett Veach to sign off.

Jake Elliott for the Philadelphia Eagles became the highest-paid kicker in the 2024 offseason.

He signed a new four-year extension in Boston and his performances have rewarded him accordingly.

The Eagles’ kickers contract is worth up to $24 million.

Elliott is the highest-paid kicker on a per-year basis, equaling future Hall of Famer Justin Tucker to the top spot.

Both are earning $6 million per year.

So, Harrison Butker will probably be eying up a similar amount of money.

Could become the highest-paid kicker!

The kicking market is growing and becoming more lucrative, wages are increasing for one of the lowest-paid positions.

Therefore, being a three-time Super Bowl winner, Butker’s agent will be saying my client deserves the best pay.

It will not be an option to lose Butker to free agency and his talent is nearly irreplaceable.

With fields and extra-point conversions being a decisive factor in winning or losing games, the Chiefs cannot lose the reliability he provides.

Butker will need to be paid well and is going to be very expensive.

They made Jones the highest paid in his position, Kansas may have to dig deep in their pockets again in 2025.
