The OTAs have already started and the new reinforcements are gradually getting used to the Dallas squad.
CeeDee Lamb isn’t attending activities because he’s waiting for his contract to be extended.
For now, other wide receivers are having a chance to show their talent in the workouts.
Jalen Tolbert is motivated for 2024
Wide receiver Jalen Tolbert, drafted in 2022, hasn’t had much of a chance as a starter with the Cowboys.
In 2023, he played in every regular season game, always as a backup, and caught 22 passes for 268 yards and two touchdowns.
The wide receiver is entering his third year in the NFL, and this season could be the perfect time for him to show what he can offer the team.
Tolbert spoke to ESPN last Thursday about his goal of getting more snaps in 2024: “That’s my goal, to go out and prove to myself; I am who I say I am,”
“Obviously, you hear that all the time. But just go out there and chase greatness. I have two guys who ride along with me in CeeDee (Lamb) and (Brandin) Cooks, and I’m looking forward to following in their footsteps and doing what I can to create value on this team.” added.
Michael Gallup’s release puts him as the franchise’s WR3.
Also because the organisation didn’t draft any receivers in the Draft or even sign any in free agency.
Teammate foresees Tolbert making a real impact this year
Brandin Cooks, WR2 for America’s Team, has been following Tolbert’s progress and sees a lot of improvement in his teammate, from the way he plays to his behaviour.
Cooks has been in the league since 2014 and is experienced enough to teach and visualise growth in his group.
“The way that he’s able to talk about a route or the way he’s able to tell the quarterback the way he sees things, he’s not shy anymore,” said. “He’s able to go up to Dak (Prescott) and say, ‘Hey, I seen it this way,’ and it’s awesome to see him grow in that aspect.
The veteran predicted that 2024 would be Tolbert’s year: “He’s ready to go. Whatever the expectation is for him out there, I’m telling you he’s going to crush it. He’s ready.”
