Former Chiefs wider receiver Tyreek Hill has spoken out against the controversial holding penalty on Sauce Gardner in last week’s game against the Jets. Hill thinks the NFL are saving Kansas because of Taylor Swift.
Kansas’ 3-1 start to the new NFL season does not tell the full picture. While their defense has been pretty stellar, the offensive struggles have been clear to see throughout the first four games of the season, particularly at wide receiver.
Turnovers have been a big issue, and Week 4’s laboured performance against a struggling Jets team gave cause for concern. Patrick Mahomes has also been far from his imperious best, throwing for 203 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions on 18-of-30 passing in the narrow 23-20 win over the Jets.

Chiefs got away with controversial holding penalty against Jets
The win against the Jets was dominated by a controversial call by the refs at the end of the game. Officials called a holding penalty on Jets star cornerback Sauce Gardner on a crucial 3rd and 20 play. That gave the Chiefs a fresh set of downs which allowed them to run the clock down.
It follows what many deemed to be a questionable call at the end of Super Bowl LVII against the Eagles last year. Eagles cornerback James Bradberry was called for holding in a third-down situation, with Kanas going on to win the game on a field goal by Harrison Butker in the closing seconds.
Rival fans already think the Chiefs get preferential treatment from the refs. Now you throw in Taylor Swift into the equation – who the NFL can’t get enough of amid her ongoing romance with Travis Kelce – and it’s enough for some to think there’s a wider conspiracy going on.
Ex Chiefs star says team were saved by refs against Jets because of Taylor Swift
Former Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill weighed in on the situation on his recent podcast, It Needed To Be Said.
The Dolphins wideout thinks the Chiefs were saved by the refs against the Jets, just like they were in the Super Bowl.
“The Chiefs got saved like that last year for real though, against the Eagles in the Super Bowl if we being for real,” he said.
Hill then suggested that it probably took place because Taylor Swift was in the building.
“Then they come back and get saved in the Jets game. Maybe because Taylor Swift was in the building. I don’t know what’s going on.. hey! whatever Kelce is doing, I know you’re helping out the NFL.”
Sounds like he’s just salty the Chiefs won the Super Bowl last year without him.
