Dak Prescott called CeeDee Lamb ‘immediately’ after Justin Jefferson’s extension was announced

Dak Prescott understands his teammate’s situation with the Dallas Cowboys.

Both players are going through similar but different times: they want a contract extension with the franchise, in other words, to be paid as much as they deserve.

What separates them is the fact that the wide receiver is still in the final year of his rookie contract, while the signal-caller has been with the team for a longer period of time.

Moreover, they’re two players who get on very well on and off the field. They’re a duo in tune with each other.

Prescott knows that Lamb is playing the business game

The QB spoke with ESPN reporter Todd Archer about the WR’s momentum. Apparently, the veteran is following the sidelines with all the details.

“Obviously CeeDee’s handling business. Nobody’s more in his corner than I am, understanding that that’s his chess move and he’s got to do that. I know him, I know he’s been working. As I’ve said, I’ve thrown with him. He’s just fine.”

Prescott doesn’t seem concerned about Lamb’s potential absence and commitment due to the holdout.

In fact, this topic doesn’t appear to be a big deal for Mike McCarthy: “He’s played at such a high level. Just really maintaining the standard and what a standard he established last year. So, I think just playing to the standard that he’s created and we all have a responsibility too to make sure those opportunities are in place but also, boy, what opportunities it creates for others because of the standard that he’s established.”

What happened at the Cowboys’ facilities when Justin Jefferson’s deal was made official

According to Archer, as soon as the quarterback was are of Justin Jefferson’s contract details, the first thing he did was call CeeDee.

ESPN’s journalist used the term “immediately” to express that Prescott’s move to contact his friend was very speedy. The QB didn’t give any specifics about what was said on the call.

Micah Parsons has spoken publicly that he thinks the pass-catcher deserves to be paid more than Minessota Vikings’ star.

Lamb could be fined up to $101,716 for not attending the mandatory minicamp.
