The Dallas Cowboys are the hottest team in football right now, but the road only gets tougher from here on out.
Road is the operative word in that sentence, as three of the Cowboys’ final four regular season affairs take place away from home.
Dallas overtook the Philadelphia Eagles for the lead in the NFC East last Sunday.
Meanwhile they are neck-and-neck with the San Francisco 49ers for the best record in the conference, with both teams currently at 10-3.
If things remain as is, the Niners will get home-field throughout the playoffs, holding the head-to-head record over the Cowboys after beating them 42-10 in early October.
Cowboys Home and Away
The Cowboys are dominating the opposition at AT&T Stadium, winning 15 games in a row, the longest active home streak in the NFL.
Dallas is the only team in league history to put up 30+ points in each of their seven home games this season.
Dak Prescott is building up an impressive MVP resume, fourth in the NFL regarding passing (3,505), while leading the league in touchdown throws (28).
Prescott and the Cowboys, though, are doing most of their damage in the friendly confines of AT&T Stadium.
All three of their losses this season occurred away from home, with America’s Team winning only two road fixtures thus far.
Dallas is averaging a mere 16.3 points per contest in their three road defeats.

As for Prescott, he has a sparkling passer rating of 122.5 at AT&T Stadium, including five TD passes without an interception in his previous two home outings.
On the road, though, it’s a different story as the Cowboys pivot has an 88.8 rating, with four of his five interceptions occurring outside of AT&T Stadium.
Taking the Momentum
The Cowboys want to get home-field advantage throughout the playoffs for obvious reasons, but to do that, they need to be better on the road.
“Right now, it’s about taking the momentum that we’ve created from these last few games that have been at home and understanding that we’ve created a standard and expectations for ourselves — on offense, defense, special teams and really as a whole in playing complementary football,” said Prescott.
“I want to take this momentum [and make] sure our communication is at an all-time high on offense, going into a hectic environment and great atmosphere with great fans, I hear.”
Over half of the Cowboys points conceded in 2023 (125/233) have come on the road.
‘Hostile environment’
On the team’s official website, wide receiver CeeDee Lamb says they need to find a way to bring their home energy on the road.
“I feel like we’ve gotta bring our own music,” says Lamb.
“We’re gonna be in a hostile environment, so we’re not gonna get as much praise for making big plays, so we’ve gotta make that the new norm.
“We’ve gotta stick to our script, continue to play, make routine plays and score touchdowns.”
This weekend, the Cowboys will be facing a Bills QB that is incredibly accurate in Buffalo.
Josh Allen has a passer rating of 109.7 in Orchard Park and a 78.1 rating away from home.
