The Kansas City Chiefs are kicking their feet up for the NFL summer break before preseason rolls around, and one key player’s breakfast routine has been revealed by fellow teammates.

The Kansas City Chiefs claimed their second Super Bowl rings in successive years at the ceremony last week.

One of the players picking up another ring was defensive tackle Keyshawn Warton.

In 2020, Wharton was an undrafted rookie free agent out of Missouri S&T and was a participant in the rookie training camps, making the small pool of players to be invited to offseason and preseason training.

The 25-year-old impressed enough to make the final 53-man roster before the new season, serving as a sporadic player.

Wharton has served as a rotational player in his four-year stint on the Chiefs roster

In four seasons on the Chiefs roster, he has played in 55 games and started just three. Wharton has recorded 85 tackles (33 solo), and seven sacks in his career, logging two in every season bar 2022 with one.

He was injured for most of the 2022 season and managed to play in just five games, but is a back-to-back Super Bowl champion.

Moreover, the DT has three forced fumbles to his name and a pair of fumble recoveries.

Despite not being a household name on the Chiefs roster, the two-time ring winner has been a key rotational piece for Steve Spagnuolo’s defensive jigsaw.

Drue Tranquill describes Wharton’s bizarre breakfast routine, with safety Justin Reid believing he has 16 eggs

The Chiefs spoke to the Atheltic on the red carpet for their Super Bowl ring ceremony and teammates revealed Tershawn Wharton’s bizarre breakfast feast.

Linebacker Drue Tranquill was asked who eats the most on the team and dropped Wharton’s name without hesitation.

“There’s is no debate about this and if someone says another name they probably aren’t just thinking clearly, it’s Tershawn Wharton,” he explained via The Athletic NFL.

“This guy for breakfast will have a triple-decker french toast sandwich with like 10 eggs.”

Chiefs star George Karlaftis speculated that it was 12 eggs and safety Justin Reid was convinced it was 16 eggs on the red carpet.

Per Pro Football Reference, Wharton measures in at 6 foot 1 with a weight of 280 lbs.

Football players of Wharton’s position and size demand a high volume of calories

Therefore, with the energy that professional footballers expend on a daily basis through their workouts and field training, it is no surprise they eat as much as they do.

For defensive tackles, size is crucial to their gameplay and they eat to try and maintain their weight.

Consuming up to 16 eggs does not sound like it is eating for enjoyment and more sustenance. Wharton will need fuel to start his day and he is making sure to get his protein in, despite the disbelief of his teammates.
