The Kansas City Chiefs took a closer look at the undrafted rookies that they invited to their minicamp and have penned one prospect to a professional deal.
Kansas City wrapped up their 79-player offseason rookie training camp on Monday.
This opportunity gives franchises around the league a chance to uncover undrafted talent and find useful players who can flesh out their rosters.
Andy Reid has been watching the rookies closely in minicamp over the weekend
Andy Reid would have been relaying crucial information to his general manager Brett Veach and suggested rookies who have valuable places on the roster.
Furthermore, this also gave their already drafted talent a chance to show off their skills in their new team’s practice facility.
The Chiefs have wasted no time putting further pieces in place for the upcoming 2024 historical ‘three-peat’ season.

Jaaron Hayek announces his life-changing news on X as undrafted rookie
Yesterday, undrafted rookie Jaaron Hayek out of Villanova University took to X to share that he has been signed by the Kansas City Chiefs.
The wide receiver joins the franchise from rookie free agency and is a hybrid weapon at their disposal.
His move comes just after the Chiefs cut UDFA Reggie Brown out of James Madison in a corresponding roster modification.
Jaaron Hayek college records and Pro Day measurement breakdowns
Hayek spent five seasons in college and played a total of 48 career games logging 170 receptions.
In total, he accumulated 2,744 receiving yards and hauled in 29 touchdowns.
The aspiring rookie made an appearance at the College Gridiron Pro Day and ran a 4.59s 40-yard dash with a 10-yard split of 1.59s. This split would have ranked him 4th amongst wide receivers at the NFL Combine.
Furthermore, Hayek has noticeable strength after repping out 225lbs on the bench press 20 times. If present at the NFL Combine, this score would have ranked him 2nd in the wide receiver department.
His speed puts him in a great spot to excel as a kick/punt returner for the Chiefs. Nonetheless, numerous players are competing for that responsibility.
Hayek describes himself as a ‘super coachable’ wide receiver in a pitch to the NFL
During his interview with the Gridiron Crew, he was asked to pitch himself to all NFL teams.
He responded: “You’ll get a guy who is super coachable, willing to do what it takes to outwork the guy next to me and across from me, willing to buy into a team’s culture, and finally someone who is able to play WR and all special teams.”
The Chiefs could have discovered a versatile player who will be an excellent addition to the roster.
