From hourly Taylor Swift updates to surprise television show appearances, the Kansas City Chiefs have been everywhere these days.

Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes have been doing countless commercials, with the former also making a cameo on Saturday Night Live.

Now head coach Andy Reid is getting in on the act, starring in a Snickers commercial.

The famous chocolate bar brand will feature the Kansas City Chiefs head coach with a new ad campaign that nods to the past.

As part of the ad, an end zone is being painted, and when it comes in at the end, Reid is there to point out that a big mistake has been made.

“Hey, that’s great,” Reid says to the groundskeeper, putting an arm around him. “But who are the Chefs?”

The new ad is a reboot and update of the 1996 Snickers commercial where a veteran end zone painter is seen forgetting the “I” in “Chiefs”.

However, no player or coach pointed out the error in that particular ad years ago.

For years, Reid has been seen as one of the most brilliant head coaching minds in the NFL, with numerous understudies going on to fantastic careers following their time with Reid.

The Andy Reid coaching tree includes the likes of Doug Pederson, Ron Rivers, Todd Bowles, John Harbaugh and Sean McDermott, along with a pair of very familiar faces, Matt Nagy, his current offensive coordinator and Steve Spagnuolo, current Chiefs defensive coordinator.

Reid has been an NFL head coach since 1999 and was on the Philadelphia Eagles sidelines from 1999 to 2012 before being let go and hired by Kansas City.

During his tenure as Chiefs head coach, Reid has only missed the playoffs once (2014) while they have made it to five successive AFC Championship games, winning that game on three occasions and capturing a pair of Super Bowls.

Comedy natural

This is not the first time the Chiefs coach has been featured in a commercial before; in fact, he was involved in an ad for State Farm with his prized QB.

He also took part in a comical ad with State Farm a year ago.

The Snickers commercial, though, is the first time that the 65-year-old has starred in an ad without the presence of one of his players.

In the past, Reid has admitted that he was reluctant to be in the public eye with commercials like State Farm, but Mahomes convinced him to try it, calling Reid a “natural” at comedy.

Everywhere you go in the NFL world, the talk, for better or for worse, is centred around the Kansas City Chiefs.

Meanwhile, every time a football game is on the schedule, we see Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Andy Reid, or Chris Jones pop up during an ad.

This team has truly transcended the pop culture landscape in the NFL with their star power.

Even more remarkable about it is that despite all the attention, it’s not stopped them from winning on the field, as they are currently 5-1 and on top of the AFC West.
